Second time here, first time was during covid so a bit different experience than this time. We were sitting by the bar and was not a long wait compared to before. We were let in after probably 5 mins wait, ordered right away and food came out like 10 mins after. Service was okay but we get to see how they make our food since we sat by the bar that have a glass window. Takoyaki was good, the ramen is a bit on the salty side. So if you someone like me who does not like salty food then this maybe not be for you. I think my first time was not as salty as this time but i cant remember it has been too long. So give it a try if you have not, maybe you'll like it or maybe it was just that day that the chef put too much salt in there.

This place had a super long line outside and smelled extremely good so we decided to wait since it looked promising. Inside the place is pretty small but turn around time seems fast since we waited only 20 mins even though the line was 2 stores over. Ordered their tonkatsu ramen and the portion on it was pretty good. Took one sip from the soup and realized why the line was long and bustling. Extremely flavorful; you can definitely taste that it's been boiled for hours. Has that homey feeling to it. Ramen noodles were nice and bouncy and the Chasu was thick and tender, broke apart with a spoon!

Thee best ramen I've had in LA thus far. After trying many, I finally feel content after stumbling upon this spot. Located in little Tokyo, this ramen house gets packed! Add your name to the list outside and wait to be called! I got the daikokuyan ramen with the tonkatsu broth. Added black garlic. Flavorful, balanced, and fresh toppings. The pork was nicely flavored too! 10/10

I have a friend in town who lives in the swamp in Florida and wants to have some good cuisine whilst in LA. We checked Yelp out to see which of the restaurants restaurants in the neighborhood where the best in this seem to be the highest rated. Upon walking in there was a funny smell. It was a little bit unappetizing, but I chalked it up to downtown Los Angeles. The food is pretty straightforward, here's what we ordered: Ramen combo, which included: Salad - 3.9 this dish needed brightness, maybe some ginger (or more ginger )in the sauce. Eel bowl - 4.7 Miso Ramen - 4.2 needed some acidity to balance it out, so we added lemon that seemed to help. The service was not super great, I was made ordering and our server paused me to go to another table before he came back. Also, during the night when we wanted some thing extra, I would have to flag somebody down as they weren't always on hand. The food was fantastic, but everything else was subpar. But I think that if you were going to come here, it would be for the food, you just have to know what you're getting into.

Among all the many Ramen places in Little Tokyo, Daikokuya is probably the most popular. There's a huge following, and a wait to get in on any night. The Daikoku Ramen is the classic, and will have everything that you'd look for in a bowl of ramen. I'd suggest ordering additional Chashu or Noodles if hungry, as there's plenty of good broth to enjoy.

Daikokuya is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. If your around the area I highly recommend that you guys should check them out The ambiance is super laid back and with a decor of Tokyo. The place itself is kind of small but nice ! The service is super friendly and accommodating I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them just thank you for their professionalism. The food is definitely on point ! It's super tastey and the price point is super reasonable ! Parking is definitely difficult so be aware of that ! You might need to park across the street in the shopping center but overall give them a try

Hands down the best ramen spot in little tokyo, having tried many, and absolutely ranks near the top of all time favorites (recency bias considered) coming from a well traveled "westerner". The culture within the restaurant, the impactful flavor behind each bite, and the quick + friendly staff make for an S tier experience every time. Food (10/10) Tried the cold ramen, spicy miso ramen, and daikoku ramen and all were an absolute hit. Cleared the entire spicy miso bowl, broth and all, with respect to how great the bowl was in every aspect. Cooked perfectly with great portion size. Service (10/10) Showed up with 3 on a late Saturday afternoon, got sat at the bar fairly quickly just to be met with ample, friendly service from any employee who walked by. Not one empty water, asked-for extra, or togo container had any delay when requested. Ambiance (9/10) The dining area may be a bit small/cramped and it does get hot in there during the day (understandable for an old building) but the culture, energy, and impact of this smaller restaurant on a big level to the local/SoCal communities and even tourists as a whole respectively prove that if you put heart like this into this golden trifecta of food, service, and atmosphere then you really deserve the success, raving reviews, and lines down the street anyway.
